The move-out checklist landlords actually check
Where move-out deposits are won and lost, room by room.
After hundreds of move-out cleans across Austin, we know the five places landlords and property managers look first — because they're the five places tenants forget.
- Inside the oven. The single most common deduction we see.
- Window tracks and sills. A quick pass with a vacuum crevice tool, but nobody does it.
- Behind and under appliances. If they roll, someone will roll them.
- Bathroom exhaust fans. Dust cakes on the grille; it reads as neglect.
- Baseboards in closets. Inspectors open every door.
